Permit to Carry Classes for the Ladies
These classes are kept small and are very comfortable for the novice shooter.

At Tactics, LLC (certified by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety) we have put together a comprehensive set of classes which will meet all the State’s requirements in applying for your “Permit to Carry”. Our “Permit to Carry” courses do vary depending on your comfort and skill level. Please view our courses below.
Recertification Course: Fee $85.00
Basic Permit to Carry Course: Fee $100.00
In 2003, Minnesota joined nearly 40 other “shall issue” states when the Minnesota Citizen’s Personal Protection Act was passed in April of 2003, which now requires county Sheriff's to issue a Permit to Carry a Firearm if certain criteria is met, including: If the applicant has completed training with an organization certified by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, is 21 years old and a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident, completes an application, is not prohibited from possessing a firearm, is not a “danger to self or the public”, and is not listed as a gang member.
This course is designed to exceed the legal requirements so that you can apply for your “Permit to Carry” to your local Sheriff.During this course you'll learn about preparing a personal protection plan, learning about conflict avoidance, understanding mental preparation and the "color codes of awareness". In addition, you'll learn about the use of deadly force in Minnesota and we’ll study the relevant Minnesota statutes and how they apply to permit holders.
The fees include all classroom materials, targets, hearing and eye protection, and a copy of the Minnesota permit application.
This course also includes the following topics: handgun basics, ballistic basics, shooting fundamentals including proper stance, holster options and recommendations, and other suggestions for gear that is important for permit holders. Some basic handgun experience is recommended, but not required for this course.
The only items required to bring to class is your handgun (unloaded and in its case). If you do not have a handgun, we will provide one for the day at a reasonable cost.
Class duration is approximately four hours. Class sizes will be limited to no more than 8. This course is priced at $100.00. Reminder, you must provide your own ammunition, hearing & eye protection, and pay your range fee.
One on one sessions are also available, these sessions are priced at $250.00
Basic Handgun and Permit to Carry
Combined Course: Fee $145.00

This course is designed for new or inexperienced shooters, and combines all basics from our "Basic Handgun Familiarization Course" with the "Permit to Carry” course outlined above. After completion of this course, you will be familiar with both revolvers and semi-automatics and how to break them down and clean them; you'll know and understand the four universal safety rules and other safety considerations; and you'll understand the fundamentals of accurate shooting, including proper grip, stance, sight alignment & sight focus, and proper breathing and trigger control.
In addition to covering all topics outlined above in our “Permit to Carry” course, we'll also spend additional time on the range prior to the actual shooting qualification portion of the course.
We’ll also cover these additional topics: Safe firearms ownership, handgun & ammunition selection, marksmanship basics and firearms maintenance.
Students should bring a cased and unloaded handgun to class. Class duration is approximately five hours, and class size will be limited to no more than 8 students. The course fee includes the classroom materials and targets.
A loaner handgun will be provided at a reasonable cost if needed.
Reminder, you must provide your own ammunition, hearing & eye protection, and pay your range fee.
